Magnetic Test
Purpose
- Exclude ferrous/stainless contamination
- verify predominantly non-ferrous aluminum character
Acceptance Criteria
- Weak to non-magnetic (aluminum expected)
- strong magnetism flags ferrous contamination
Procedure
- Magnet test on diverse sample clippings
- assess ferrous attraction
- confirm acceptable Fe <1.5%
Copper Identification Test
CRITICAL
Purpose
- Confirm low copper
- visually detect brass/copper contamination
- validate no high-copper alloys
Acceptance Criteria
- No reddish brass coloration
- predominantly aluminum silver color
- no visible high-copper material
Procedure
- Visual inspection
- look for ANY reddish/brass coloration indicating copper
- sample should appear aluminum-silver throughout
XRF Spectrometry
